A few years later, Basilio Coccheri, the hero of the first book “The Past is underfoot”, decided to go down into the tunnel again, which led him for the first time into Prehistorical times and where he found a very interesting and important artifact. This time, the tunnel took him to a completely different era – the era of the Mycenaeans, who recently captured Crete.
At first, the Mycenaean ruler mistook Basilio for a spy, but when a mysterious boy, a guest of the king, disappeared in the palace, Coccheri was instructed to find him.
During the search, Basilio finds out who this boy was, and why he was kidnapped by unknown people. Coccheri makes several trips to Mycenaean Crete and finds a missing stranger.
